Search
Search allows you to quickly find messages, files, or any information within Mezon.
1. Basic Search
How to Use: Enter a keyword or phrase into the search box at the top of the Mezon app or website.
Example: Enter "financial report" to find all related content.
Result: Mezon will display messages, attachments, or other content containing your keyword.
2. Advanced Search with Filters
To narrow results and search more precisely, use the following filters:
2.1. Search by Sender
Purpose: Filter messages sent by a specific user.
Syntax: Type > (greater than symbol) immediately before the sender’s name.
Examples:
>an.nguyenthanh→ Find all messages from "an.nguyenthanh">phong.ketoan→ Filter messages from "phong.ketoan"
2.2. Search by Mention
Purpose: Filter messages that mention a specific user, role, or channel.
Syntax: Type ~ (tilde) immediately before the mentioned user or role.
Examples:
~anh.nguyentram→ Find messages mentioning "anh.nguyentram"~team.dev→ Find messages mentioning "team.dev"
2.3. Filter by Attachments
Purpose: Find messages containing specific types of attachments.
Syntax: Type & (ampersand) to show filter options.
Common Filters:
& has:video→ Messages with videos& has:link→ Messages with links& has:image→ Messages with images& has:file→ Messages with any type of attachment
Combine with Keywords: You can combine & with a keyword for more precise results.
2.4. Search for an exact or match phrase
Purpose:
- Use single quotes
' 'to find messages containing the exact phrase, matching the words in the exact order. - Use double quotes
" "to find messages that match the phrase loosely, such as variations or partial matches.
Syntax:
- Exact phrase:
'search phrase' - Match phrase:
"search phrase"
Example:
'Tuesday afternoon'— shows only messages with the exact phrase “Tuesday afternoon”."Tuesday afternoon"— shows messages that include related variations, such as “Afternoon on Tuesday” or “Tuesday’s afternoon meeting”.
3. Quick Tips for Effective Search
- Combine Filters: Use multiple filters at once for the most accurate results.
- Example:
>an.nguyenthanh & has:image→ Find images from "an.nguyenthanh" - Example:
report & has:file→ Find files containing the word "report"
- Example:
Use Specific Keywords: The more specific the keyword, the more accurate the results.
